Ken-ryu Han, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Han is board certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. After completing his Ivy League education at Cornell University in upstate New York, Dr. Han matriculated at George Washington University Medical School in Washington, DC, a clinically renowned medical school. After completing his medical degree, Dr. Han completed two years of General Surgery and four years of Urology at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey. Dr. Han completed his medical training at UCLA with three extra years of fellowship training, focusing on urological cancers (prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers).

During his accomplished academic career, Dr. Han published over 40 scientific papers and has presented over 40 research projects at multiple scientific meetings throughout the country. His paper on cryosurgery for the treatment of prostate cancer in 2003 was the first paper in the world on the use of the technology in humans. His research publications resulted in several prizes at national and regional American Urological Association meetings. He was also the recipient of the prestigious American Foundation for Urological Disease Scholarship for his research work on kidney cancer vaccines.

Since coming to Phoenix, he has been named to America's Guide to Top Urologists in 2009 and 2010 and also to the Phoenix Magazine Top Doctors issue in 2009. In addition to treating most general urology conditions, Dr Han has special interests in urological cancers, kidney stone disease, and prostatic diseases.
